Geologists of Zarubezhgeologia JSC started to carry out a field work in the Republic of Sudan

As part of the agreement performance with the Ministry of Mineral Resources of the Republic of Sudan for the work implementation on the Geophysical Information System development within the project "Prognostic and metallogenic map of the Republic of Sudan at a scale of 1: 1 000 000"  geologists and technical employees of Zarubezhgeologia JSC together with geologists from the Agency for Geological Research of the Republic of Sudan began a field work on the targeted geochemical mapping.

Field geological work is necessary to create a map of geological complexes of the geochemical specialization at a scale of 1:2 000 000 to form the final layout of the structural-formational map of the Republic of Sudan at a scale of 1:1 000 000 in the Arc/Info software environment (ArcGIS/ArcMap). Taking into account the climate features of East Africa, in the current field season, field work will cover areas in the east and north of the Republic of Sudan. Field work is planned to be completed by the end of this year.

It should be mentioned that Zarubezhgeologia JSC has started to implement the contract with the Ministry of Mineral Resources of the Republic of Sudan since the beginning of this year. Taking into account the military and political instability and some technical issues in the country, the field season has begun and at present the geologists of Zarubezhgeologia JSC are successfully working.
